Presstek, a provider of eco-friendly printing solutions, has reported strong showings at two recent trade shows in which the company exhibited its plate and imaging technologies.

Joe Calmese has been appointed director of Flexo Consumables for Mark Andy Print Products (MAPP), a division of Mark Andy. In this newly created position, Calmese will support the company’s mission to be a ‘total solutions provider.'

There have been some notable developments in the digital production landscape for folding cartons, but overall the landscape has not changed significantly in the past year and a half.

According to Mary Sullivan, director of global marketing, CPP was an excellent show with good traffic and a good number of flexo printers in attendance. Mark Andy revealed news at the show that generated interest at its booth.

This new division of Mark Andy, called Mark Andy Print Products provides a broad offering of a variety of flexo and offset items including prepress, pressroom and post-press supplies.

Burnishine Products are now available from Mark Andy Print Products. The consumables distribution arm of Presstek, a longtime valued Burnishine distributor, was recently acquired by Mark Andy, making Burnishine products more widely available than ever.

News on printers in the packaging printing industry, including Wausau Container, CCL Industries Inc., Diamond Packaging and Menasha Packaging Company.

Since the addition of a new Presstek 75DI digital offset press, Wausau Container, a folding-carton converter specializing in production of high-quality folding cartons in small-lot sizes, is now able to bring in-house a significant volume of print that it had to previously outsource. Wausau added the Presstek 75DI to its four flexo lines.

Graphic Innovators of Elk Grove, IL, will now distribute Presstek's DI digital offset presses, as well as its portfolio of CTP systems in the United States, Mexico and Brazil. "We are pleased to be the first company Graphic Innovators has chosen to partner with as they add sales of new equipment to their already-established used equipment business," said Joe Demharter, Presstek’s vice president of sales.
