Digital printing for flexible packaging may still be in its infancy, but several success stories have emerged to demonstrate the impact the technology can have on this fast-growing packaging segment. This stand-up pouch for Three Farmers roasted chickpeas is an excellent example of how digital technology can enhance the consumer's experience with the brand. Each pouch contains a code that can be typed into the Three Farmers' website, leading the consumer to information detailing precisely where their ingredients were grown and when they were harvested. The pouch was printed by Inland Packaging on an HP Indigo 20000 digital press and received first place in the Flexible Packaging (Digital Printing) category in the 2018 packagePRINTING Excellence Awards.
