What happened: P&G has established a new partnership organization—called “The Brandery”—which is a nonprofit organization designed to develop and launch new entrepreneurial companies and brands. According its Website, entrepreneurs will benefit from access to a wide range of talented people in consumer marketing in Cincinnati, where P&G is headquartered. The Brandery will offer many services, including funding to encourage new brands and opportunities.
Why it matters: The strategy of The Brandery is to build up the branding corridor in this region and continue to put new brands on the map that originated in this fertile packaged goods area. It will also grow jobs and create new income streams for startup firms, including $20,000 company grants from CincyTech, a public-private venture development group.
