Graphic Packaging Receives $41.5 Million Investment
August 26, 2014

Governor Bobby Jindal and Graphic Packaging International Inc. announced a $41.5 million investment in the company’s paper mill in West Monroe to upgrade production machinery. Graphic Packaging International’s West Monroe paper mill produces paperboard for use in beverage and other consumer-based packaging at two other company sites in West Monroe. Graphic Packaging will retain 1,340 employees at the three Louisiana sites with the modernization project.

PPC Distributes Safety Boxscore Awards

The Safety Boxscore awards, presented at Paperboard Packaging Council's (PPC) Spring Outlook and Strategies Conference, held April 3-5, are given to PPC member companies based on the cumulative number of hours worked the previous year without an OSHA-recordable injury. “Safety is of utmost importance in the packaging industry and it is a testament to our members that such a large group can claim this achievement year after year,” expressed Brian Chaisson, director of industry benchmarking at PPC.

PPC Honors Winners of the North American Paperboard Packaging Competition

Six packaging experts came together to judge the submission for this year's North American Paperboard Packaging Competition which took place over three days in July at PPC headquarters in Springfield, MA. One-hundred and forty-three entries from 34 Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) members were honored in a special awards ceremony at PPC's Fall Meeting and Leadership Conference on October 18, 2012 in Las Vegas.

Challenges Facing Folding Carton Printers

GPI Scores Top Carton Awards

Graphic Packaging International (GPI), Marietta, Ga., took home the National Paperboard Package of the Year award at the Paperboard Packaging Council’s (PPC’s) National Paperboard Packaging Competition. One hundred and seventeen entries from 31 PPC members competed as part of the 68th annual awards program. Winners were honored at a ceremony during the PPC Fall Meeting and Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla., earlier this month. GPI won top honors for its limited-edition Cheerios Bring on the Gold 2010 Olympics Hockey Shoot Out cereal box, which featured a 3-D interactive hockey game on its back panel. Even though the intricate game
