FTA holds annual Fall Conference

The North American FTA put ‘Color in Focus’ before an audience of nearly 300 flexographers during its recent annual Fall Conference. The assembly consisted largely of printers; but suppliers, pre-press technicians, consumer product companies, teachers and students were also represented as well. Co-chaired by Mark Mazur of DuPont Packaging Graphics and Dan Collins of Berry Plastics, the event took place in St Louis, Missouri, where 14 speakers and 34 conference exhibitors were present. HOD-HASHARON, Israel—Advanced Vision Technology Ltd., a supplier of automatic optical inspection and quality assurance systems for the printing and packaging industry, announces sales for Q1 2008 of $17.1 million, an increase of 118 percent over the same period in 2007. Graphics Microsystems, Inc.(GMI), acquired by AVT in October 2007, contributed $8.5 million to Q1 revenues. AVT recorded an increase of 8.1 percent over Q4 2007 ($15.81 million). Ronin Investments Managing Company Ltd Invests in AVT

HOD HASHARON, Israel—Ronin Investments Managing Company Ltd has acquired close to 25 percent of AVT (Advanced Vision Technology) shares. Ronin, managed by Ms. Nurit Nahum, acquired the shares at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange where AVT is listed with a market value of approximately US$ 80 million. AVT is a developer of machine vision-based process control and quality assurance solutions for the printing industry. Ronin’s investment in AVT follows its strategy, which is based on investing in medium-sized companies with long-term cash flow and growth potential.
