RotoMetrics Launches Machine-Finished, Through-Hardened Die
RotoMetrics is launching the RD300, a through-hardened, machine-finished solid die designed for high quality, tight tolerance converting applications.
For converters cutting engineered precision parts, thick substrates, films or synthetic medical components, the RD300 provides a balance of productivity, cost savings and reliability. The RD300 is an effective tool for cutting disposable medical substrates, dust-sensitive labels and tags, in-mold labels, synthetic gasket materials, Velcro, Tyvek and electronic components.
The RD300’s strength and durability comes from a high chromium D2 steel grade body along with a specialized heat treating process that provides a full-depth hardness of 58-60 Rockwell. Additionally, RD300 tools are completely machine finished, a process that holds the keenness of the blade through multiple re-tool processes. A tight tolerance of +/-.001 provides exacting cut capability and delivers a high first-pass yield, providing maximum tool life and exacting cutting quality and control.
