Part of ProAmpac’s ProActive Intelligence platform, MP-1000 is a patent-pending film technology that actively adsorbs moisture from package headspace, eliminating the need for desiccant packets while maintaining strong barrier performance and product integrity.
The innovation was commercialized in collaboration with Ozzi, a stick-pack brand for sensitive powdered products. By transitioning to MP-1000, Ozzi improved flavor stability, reduced off-odors, and extended shelf life, without changing existing filling processes.
“Being named a finalist for the World Food Innovation Awards is a strong validation of the impact MP-1000 is delivering for our customers,” said Bob Flaherty, vice president of product development. “This innovation demonstrates how active packaging can go beyond protection to actively improve product performance, streamline operations, and enhance the consumer experience.”
In addition to moisture control, MP-1000 helps reduce waste, prevent clumping, and streamline packaging by removing loose desiccants. It is compatible with existing equipment and available in rollstock and premade pouch formats for a range of moisture-sensitive applications.
The World Food Innovation Awards, organized by FoodBev Media, recognize excellence and innovation across the global food and beverage industry. Winners were announced on March 30, 2026, during the IFE event at ExCeL London.
