Phoenix Challenge Fundraising Luncheon Predicts Record Attendance
CHARLOTTE, N.C.—The annual Phoenix Challenge Fundraising Luncheon Committee anticipates record attendance at its event this fall, breaking last year’s record of 84 attendees. Phoenix Challenge Foundation Chairman Bettylyn Krafft said, “This year, our 10th anniversary, marks another important and exciting milestone in our history. The dramatic momentum in building a strong flexographic education network in North America continues at an exhilarating pace.”
The luncheon will include a progress report on the Phoenix Challenge Foundation’s work to further flexography education. Following another successful high school flexo competition this spring, the luncheon will also include an update on PC College, the Phoenix Challenge Foundation’s exciting new flexo competition for college students.
“We are also very grateful,” said Krafft, “for the enduring consideration, support and extraordinary generosity of our industry, which according to our many high school and college educators, is second to none in North America.”
Hosting the annual high school competition costs the Phoenix Challenge Foundation approximately $50,000 each year. The college competition is expected to initially add another $20,000 to the all-volunteer foundation’s overall annual costs.
Krafft added, “We are thrilled that the keynote speaker this year is the popular and energetic Chancellor of Appalachian State University, Dr. Kenneth Peacock. He has served the university as chancellor since July 2004, and has already made a significant positive impact on the growth and national image of ASU in a relatively short period of time.”
The annual fundraising luncheon will take place Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Doubletree Charlotte Airport Hotel, 2600 Yorkmont Road, Charlotte, N.C.
The price to sponsor a table of 10 is $550. The price for an individual seat is $65. Seating is limited. Contact Bettylyn Krafft at bkrafft@carolina.rr.com or 704-309-3748 to sponsor a table or purchase single tickets.
