New Press From Bobst at Info*Flex
ROSELAND, N.J.—The Bobst Group plans to use this year’s FTA annual forum in Las Vegas for the North American introduction of the Fischer and Krecke (F&K) Flexpress 15-S. It will also offer a presentation on smartGPS technology.
First introduced at an April, 2010 open house inaugurating F&K’s new technology center in Bielefeld, Germany, the FP 15-S is the first in a new series of compact, easy-to-operate central impression flexo presses.
The FP 15-S offers a printing width of up to 49 inches and repeat lengths from 14.6 inches to 34.6 inches, but requires minimum floor space. Ease of operation and maintenance is derived from features like the adjacent positioning of the unwinder to the rewinder in a face-to-face winder configuration and the location of the touch-screen operating panel for efficient accessibility.
The 15-S has a new bridge design and inter-color dryers with easy access for maintenance. A cantilever sleeve system contributes to fast changeovers and easy handling. The new model is also smartGPS™ ready for automatic registration and impression pre-setting.
“The Flexpress 15-Series is the press flexible packaging printers have been waiting for,” says Michael D’Angelo, vice president, F&K North America. “It puts F&K technology and solutions within reach of the broadest range of the market. It will well worth it for printers to see us at Info*Flex.”
During the FTA Forum, Kurt Flathmann, Fischer and Krecke and Kochsiek North America product manager, will offer a presentation titled, “SmartGPS: an Industry Changing Advance in Flexo Printing Technology” on Sunday, May 2. The presentation will give attendees a comprehensive introduction to this technology, which, according to F&K, reduces startup waste to near zero and significantly shortens changover times while ensuring quality production.
