Converting Products in Demand for CPP
PARAMUS, N.J.—With final 2007 demographics and portal activity analyzed from last quarter’s industry event in Las Vegas, HA Bruno, LLC, organizer of CPP EXPO, has released details of the review that indictate the need for more converting/package-printing equipment, machinery, materials, and ancillary supplies at the show.
With CPP EXPO accounting for approximately 30,000 square feet of exhibit space (less than 10 percent of the overall exhibit space occupied by the co-located expositions, PACK EXPO and PROCESS EXPO), demographics indicate that 36 percent of attendees show an interest in converting equipment, materials, and supplies.
When the buyer demographics are analyzed in conjunction with the portal activity, the results are critical in targeting growth areas for the event. BDMetrics (the organization managing the online portal for CPP-PACK-PROCESS Expos) “scores” the exhibitor representation versus the attendee interest to determine where exhibitor supply must be increased to meet attendee interest demand, and vice-versa. The top areas for demand were in paper/board, carton equipment/supplies, inks, and applicators (coating, laminating).
In addition, the portal statistics show that of the top 25 key words searched, eight were converting-specific, they included labels, tapes, printing, corrugated, cartons, films, pouches, and bags.
“We know we have our work cut out for us,” said Leo Nadolske, president of CPP EXPO. “The tough part of a trade show is bringing in the buyers; these results confirm that we have the buyers so that’s been accomplished. Now, it is our job to demonstrate to the suppliers that this is the place they should be. Their potential customers have spoken; now I need to ensure they listen.”
CPP EXPO, PACK EXPO, and PROCESS EXPO are stand-alone exhibitions co-locating to showcase an overall supply chain event. These expos will partner in Chicago, Nov. 9-13, 2008 at the McCormick Place Complex.
