CRI’s Distler Chosen For 2009 Printing Ink Pioneer Award
FAIRFIELD, Ohio–—On June 11, 2009 the National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers, Inc. (NAPIM), recognized Color Resolution International’s (CRI) Jim Distler as a 2009 Printing Ink Pioneer.
The Pioneer Award is given to six individuals in the printing ink industry. Award nominees must have served at least 25 years in the industry and exhibit service contributions, including committee and association participation, as well as noteworthy research and laboratory work.
“We’ve had the great pleasure of working with Jim for many years,” said George Sickinger, chairman and CEO of CRI. “He represents innovation beyond products and service, and we feel honored to have him as part of our team.”
With more than 35 years of printing experience, Jim has developed expertise in corrugated and other market niches using fine graphics. He has worked with hundreds of companies within the industry to determine the best ink formula for each specific printing application.
“Jim is a great guy to have as a key supplier,” said Jack Dunn, vice president and general manager for Juiced Creative. “Most people in sales just spin their yarn but he would listen first, analyze second, and then propose solutions. I quickly came to trust Jim and his advice, probably because he never steered me wrong.”
Distler serves as the vice president of specialty products for CRI, and has been with the company since 1998. He previously worked as a technical director for Cloudsley and vice president/general manager of BCM/USA, Inc.
