Atlas Die and Gardall To Merge
ELKHART, Ind.—All of the business operations and assets of Gardall Manufacturing Corporation of Wood Dale, Ill. were recently acquired by Atlas Die LLC. Gardall is a manufacturer of rotary dies, print cylinders and anvils for the narrow web label, tag, and specialty converting industries. Mohammad Azim, former Gardall president and owner, will assume the role of vice president and general manager of the newly formed Rotary Products Division for Atlas Die. Under the Rotary Products Division, Mohammad will have business responsibility for both the solid tool products as well as the flexible tool products produced at Atlas Chem-Milling (ACM) located in Elkhart, Ind.
According to Mohammad Azim, former Gardall president, “I am personally very excited and the combination of these two businesses will create tremendous opportunities for our customers. Atlas Die has the deepest technical knowledge and sales support in the industry and that will only enhance our long standing commitment to superior customer service.”
Ken Smott, president and CEO, added, “We are excited to welcome Mohammad and all of the Gardall employees. The addition of their solid tool product offering will be an excellent compliment to our current portfolio. Having Gardall as part of the Atlas Die family will enable our customers to reduce their supply base with ‘one-stop shopping’ for solid, flexible, and steel rule tools. This acquisition continues our growth strategy of broadening our product portfolio, strengthening our relationships with the leading converters in the industry, and deepening our management group.”
