SuperCorrExpo 2016 Poised to be the Best Yet
The 2016 TAPPI/AICC SuperCorrExpo® is the most powerful global hub of corrugated networking in the Western Hemisphere. Because SuperCorrExpo occurs once every four years, each day of the event is packed with activity so visitors can get the most of the experience. The 2016 edition of SuperCorrExpo is poised to be the best yet, featuring a variety of workshops, keynote speakers offering current and compelling messages, and opportunities for hands-on interaction.
SuperCorrExpo will kick off on Monday, Oct. 17 with more than 300 impressive exhibits throughout the showroom. While Monday is the official start of the show, attendees are encouraged to arrive early to make the most of the Flexo and Rotary Diecutters Calibration Workshop, hosted by Dick Target. The workshop will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16, and will cover a range of topics including sustain board caliper and printing capabilities.

Jonathan Kraft, president of The Kraft Group, will provide SuperCorrExpo's opening keynote.
The event will feature several keynote presentations, beginning with Jonathan Kraft, president of The Kraft Group, who will address the audience on Monday, Oct. 17, at 9:45 a.m. As president of The Kraft Group, he is actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the group’s companies, while maintaining a focus on driving growth and diversification. Together, these companies convert, produce and distribute more than 5 million tons of paper and pulp annually. The Kraft Group is also a major player in the sports and entertainment industry, as it owns and operates the New England Patriots, New England Revolution and Gillette Stadium.
Following the keynote, industry leaders including MarquipWardUnited, Baldwin Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, JB Machinery, Automatan/Systec, SUN Automation and AG Stacker will lead a session titled “What’s New in the Industry,” at 11 a.m.

Ron Sasine, principal at Hudson Windsor, will discuss packaging design and sustainability.
Tuesday, Oct. 18 will begin with an opening keynote presentation from Ron Sasine, who is currently a principal at Hudson Windsor, LLC, and is the former senior director of packaging procurement for Walmart. Sasine will discuss the success he has had in packaging design, supply chain visibility and sustainable packaging initiatives for one of the largest global brands.
Tuesday will feature nine panel discussions and breakout sessions to choose from, including:

Globalization is becoming an increasingly important aspect of the packaging industry and Wednesday, Oct. 19 will open with an “Overview of the International Containerboard Market,” an International roundtable.
The International roundtable will be followed by a roundtable on “Understanding Lighter Containerboard Grade and the Challenge in Combining and Converting Them.” This roundtable will be presented by Ralph Young, technical advisor, AICC; Randy Banks, president, Sharp International; Rich Putch, director of technical services, National Steel Rule; and Greg Grdinich, national sales manager, BHS Corrugated-North America.

Fernando Sanchez, general manager of MEJORAR
Fernando Sanchez, general manager of MEJORAR, will wrap up the international roundtable sessions with his presentation on "Leadership." Sanchez has more than 25 years of experience as a human management executive, strategic advisor, and consultant for many national, international, multinational, public, and private Latin American companies.

Eduardo Posada, CEO of Grupo Gondi, will offer a look ahead at the future of the industry.
Keynote Speaker Eduardo Posada, chairman & CEO, Grupo Gondi, will cap the morning’s events. Drawing on his vast experience in the paper and corrugated industry, Posada will share his insights and high-level perspectives on where the industry is today and what is on the horizon for paper, corrugated boxes, folding cartons, flexible packaging, dies, photopolymer plates and more.
The final day of SuperCorrExpo is packed with presentations and a closing keynote that should not be missed, especially since the event won’t return for another four years.

Kevin "Kal" Kallaugher will provide the closing keynote.
The closing keynote presentation from Kevin (Kal) Kallaugher will round out SuperCorrExpo 2016. Kallaugher is an editorial cartoonist for the Economist and Baltimore Sun. This international award-winning editorial cartoonist will share his unique take on current events, politics, and the economy and tackles the issues of the day with well-placed humor and precision art. Don’t miss his live drawing of favorite targets, plus a surprise for the audience — their own original cartoons to take home!
