GMG Has a Successful First Half of 2008
July 22, 2008

TUEBINGEN—GMG, supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, announced that the company has achieved significant sales growth in the first half of 2008. Sales growth compared to the previous half-year has been achieved in every six-month period since 2004, which now means eight times in succession. So far in 2008, GMG has been able to increase sales by slightly more than 10 percent compared to the same period of 2007 (and almost 30 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2006). This is impressive confirmation of GMG’s sustained growth. Sales in Asia more than doubled in comparison with the corresponding period of the

Will Wonders Ever Cease?

Whether they are political or technological, most revolutions give way to a period of fine-tuning and incremental improvement. Having shown that they can meet the needs of packaging houses for fast, affordable concept and interim proofing, digital inkjet devices up to 44˝ in width now are proving that they also can satisfy the rigorous demands of legal contract proofing for high-end packaging applications. Traditionally, inkjet has had difficulties in reproducing trap and overprint characteristics, fine lines and text, moiré patterns, light pastels, and metallics, and has needed special media and color management tools. Because of these issues, brand-sensitive clients still may specify a

July 10, 2007

Tuebingen, GERMANY—GMG, supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, announced that the company had been able to achieve an extraordinary increase in sales in the first half of 2007. The continuous growth is reflected in the fact that in each month the respective value of the previous year was surpassed. To date, GMG has succeeded in boosting its sales in 2007 by just over 14 percent compared to the same period of 2006 (almost 50 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2005), thus impressively underlining the sustained growth of GMG. Sales outside Germany rose rapidly and now account for well over two-thirds

Doing Digital
March 1, 2006

The world’s going digital; ain’t no doubt about it—at least in my humble opinion. Digital technology has a firm foothold in printing, especially in the front end of the process—in prepress. Computer-to-plate is firmly entrenched in offset printing and is well on its way in flexo (see “CTP Flexo: Preaching to the Printers,” p. 16).
