Another Superior Rating on Food Safety Audit for Interfilm
GLASTONBURY, Conn.—Interfilm’s Glastonbury facility near Hartford continued the streak of Superior ratings by AIB International by receiving a score of 960 in a recent food safety audit. On December 10, 2010, the facility was audited based on AIB International’s requirements of the Consolidated Standards for Food Contact Packaging Facilities. The Glastonbury plant is the fourth Interfilm facility to receive a Superior rating, and scored second highest of the four slitting operations. Interfilm’s North Aurora, Ill., facility received a score of 990 in October 2010. In addition, this accomplishes Interfilm’s goal of having all four converting facilities audited by AIB International in 2010.
“Our employees have worked diligently to establish a whole new level of discipline in our facilities,” said Cynthia Simpler, senior vice president of operations. “Their efforts and commitment made the difference for us. They implemented 5S. They established new internal standards for insuring product safety, and they live by those standards. Our employees are also very competitive: they want to be the best in our industry and were determined to achieve Superior ratings from the start. They accomplished their mission.”
Interfilm plans to have each converting facility audited annually by AIB International from this point forward. According to Simpler, “Operating under AIB requirements helps to insure the day-to-day discipline for safety and quality that our customers expect. Our ultimate goal is to keep them coming back for more.”
