What are you most looking forward to about attending one of the first printing/packaging industry events since the pandemic?
Durst will be exhibiting at PRINTING United 2021 (booth #5136). As everyone has had to pivot and adapt during the pandemic, we are looking forward to the one-on-one, hands-on interaction with our customers. While virtual demos have been successful for us, to be able to do live printing, and to show our printers' versatility and efficiency in depth, is something we are excited to get back to.
What are some of your expectations for the packaging industry in the coming year?
The packaging industry has been working through the pandemic, it has had a dramatic impact on all business. Rigid packaging and flexible packaging have suffered from numerous supply chain problems, but generally the overall level of demand for packaging has remained strong. Improving e-commerce offerings for online buying is an opportunity for growth in packaging. As consumers shift to buying goods online, the packaging associated with these home deliveries will continue to grow. The ability for packaging companies to capitalize on this expanding market will require investment in digital solutions and automation that can streamline the production steps required to produce a package.
