Nip/Pull Roll For Tension Zones
The newest addition to a line of shafted stands for various winding applications by The Double E Company is a nip/pull roll station that can be used to set tension zones or master line speeds. These stations easily synchronize with any section of the production line to help continue production at an even pace. The stands feature induction motors or servo motors, Siemens motor drivers and controls, and custom (optional) touch-screen programming. Adjustable nip pressure and options on nip roll coverings are also available. The stands accommodate a large range of web widths and materials, and easily integrate with existing machine controls.—www.doubleeusa.com
Rewind Tension Control
Tenzomat II, a second generation, automatic rewind tension control system from SOMA Engineering, enables a wider spectrum of flexible packaging materials to be handled. Precise rewind tension control is achieved through load cells linked to a PLC to measure tension values at each working station. These values are subsequently compared through special software to pre-set targets and any deviations are corrected through changes in the pressure inside the rewind shafts. This enables precise rewind tension control during the entire rewind cycle. Tenzomat II allows for variations in the width, thickness, and diameter of rolls to be processed and enables the user to process a wider range of materials with top quality finished reels. The system is equipped with software that stores recipes for repeat jobs.—www.soma-eng.com
