Polymount, a supplier of products for the flexographic printing industry, has developed the Polymount Film Cleaner. This new machine cleans printed film and allows for its reuse in the set up of the next print job. In doing this, Polymount states thousands of meters of waste can be eliminated.
According to Polymount, cleaning set up substrates can also be beneficial if the user seeks to recycle it. Film with all ink removed will obtain a higher resale value.
The Polymount Film Cleaner works by running printed film through a tank filled with Polywash cleaning liquid. A built-in recycle unit keeps the Polywash clean and allows for its reuse in removing ink from the film. In the machine's final station, the film is dried. Fifty meters of printed film can be cleaned in one minute.
