PLGA Global Technical Conference to Focus on Standard Operating Specifications
LOUISVILLE, Ky.—This year’s PLGA Global Technical Conference, slated for Oct. 3-5, 2007, will kick off the association’s commitment to establishing Standard Operating Specifications for the gravure process. At the February operating conference, Miller Brewing pointed out to PLGA Global what it needed from the gravure printing industry—quicker, less expensive, better quality—and the same message is being repeated by other major end users such as Proctor & Gamble.
Standard Operating Specifications will help satisfy those ever-increasing demands from the users of products, according to PLGA. Because the cost of gravure cylinders is a continuing hot topic, cost-saving alternatives will also be explored—integral cylinders, sleeves of all types, build-up systems, and other cost saving options—and attendees will tour the Cylicron facility.
A full session will be devoted to cost-saving ideas in the prepress area. Also, a tabletop vender exhibition reception will be held during both Wednesday and Thursday evening receptions.
