Interpack 2011 to Offer Two New Shows
CHICAGO—Six weeks after the exhibitor registration deadline for interpack Processing and Packaging 2011, the booked exhibit space has already reached similar levels as in 2008. When last held in 2008, interpack occupied the entire available space in all 19 halls. Interpack is scheduled to take place from May 12-18, 2011 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Next year’s interpack will focus on current industry topics. In addition to InnovationParc Packaging, with “Quality of Life” as the main theme, interpack 2011 will feature two new special shows: “Metal Packaging Plaza” and “Save Food!”
With “Metal Packaging Plaza,” interpack will create a new meeting point for the international metal packaging industry and its suppliers. The center of the special show will be an information platform providing background details about current issues. Exhibitors will present their metal packaging solutions around this platform.
“Save Food!” will demonstrate how each stage in the packaging value chain, including food transportation and logistics, can help in the worldwide initiative against wasting food. The special show will be managed by Messe Düsseldorf in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and the supporting associations of interpack. In addition to highlighting the current situation, a multitude of solutions and concepts will be presented, showing, for example, how the protective function of packaging can effectively prevent food from spoiling between production and consumption.
