Disc Graphics Achieves FSC Certification
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.—Disc Graphics, a nationally-recognized printing and packaging manufacturer, has received certification by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). International in scope and recognition, the FSC maintains strict environmental stewardship and responsible forestry practices. Disc Graphics can now offer its customers and its end-users the assurances that accompany the FSC logo. Monitoring the process from harvest through manufacturing is the FSC hallmark.
This certification, known as chain-of-custody certification, provides assurance to their customers requesting FSC certified paper or paperboard, that Disc Graphics has the process controls to stand behind strict FSC policies and standards. The end-user can be assured that if the packaging has the FSC logo on it, only FSC certified paper was used. Certification followed an independent audit by the SGS Group, one of the world’s leading Forest Management certification organizations.
According to Senior Vice President John Rebecchi, “Our receipt of FSC certification reflects our ongoing program of providing eco-friendly packaging solutions to our customers.” In further support of the company’s environmental mission statement, “Moving Eco-Consciousness Into Action,” Disc recently became an EPA Green Power Partner, signifying its purchase of Renewable Energy.
