To develop this tube, Tom's of Maine utilized a #2 HDPE construction, rather than the mixed plastic found in most toothpaste tubes, which render them non-recyclable in most streams. This tube however, can be recycled with other #2 plastics, giving consumers an easy and eco-friendly way to discard their empty tubes.
