FOSTER CITY, Calif. -- EFI™ , a world leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, was the first to introduce a digital inkjet label printing system with full LED UV curing technology for printing on flexible packaging materials. EFI's Jetrion® 4830LED UV Inkjet System and a newly-developed, flexible ink set allows printing on unsupported and heat sensitive materials, including shrink sleeve, opening up new opportunities for label converters in the flexible packaging market. Current and future Jetrion 4830 users can fully upgrade their presses to utilize the flexible ink set by retrofitting their systems with the new LED lamp technology.

EFI has released a new set of LED UV curing inks for the Jetrion 4830LED digital inkjet label press, said to allow printing on unsupported and heat-sensitive materials for shrink-sleeve peel-resistant labels. The LED-curing system allows full UV ink curing on heat-sensitive and other flexible packaging methods previously unsupported by traditional UV-curing methods. The Jetrion's new ink set also avoids the need to pre-coat or pattern-coat flexible substrates, unlike other digital label print systems.
