North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue and executives from RockTenn Co., Norcross, Ga., have announced a plan for the consumer packaging company to expand and relocate its folding carton operation in Marion, N.C. According to a news release issued by the state of North Carolina, RockTenn expects to invest around $23 million in 2011 and 2012 and will create 124 jobs. PLASTICS NEWS REPORT HAMLET, N.C. (Jan. 17, 2:50 p.m. ET) -- Plastics film converter Global Packaging Inc. plans to move into the former Alpha Plastics plant in Hamlet, N.C. According to a Jan. 14 news release from Gov. Bev Perdue, Global plans to create 64 jobs and invest $1.7 million during the next three years in Hamlet.
