Kodak demonstrated its Flexcel NX Digital Flexographic System during the Packaging Innovations Show in London, UK. The Flexcel NX System is claimed to achieve levels of print quality that would normally be expected from gravure, offset or digital printing. Flexcel NX is said to provide cost savings on-press with high resolution. The flat-top dots are claimed to provide wide impression latitude, fast set-ups and long plate life. As a result users find that make-ready wastage costs can decline by 25 per cent and their plates are capable of run lengths two or four times greater than traditional digital plates.
