HEBRON, KY—The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) recognized Zumbiel Packaging’s new state-of-the-art beverage facility as an environmentally responsible paperboard packaging supplier. The FSC is an independent, international, non-profit organization that “supports environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests”, according to the group’s Web site. Zumbiel’s FSC Chain of Custody (COC) certification means that Zumbiel manufactures beverage carriers in a way that is conducive to responsible, sustainable forest management. In order for Zumbiel to receive the FSC COC certification the company had to demonstrate its ability to protect the environment through sustainable raw material sourcing. “We feel strongly about sourcing our
