As part of its printed electronics initiative, R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company is now offering RFID and NFC production capabilities to provide customers with printed NFC and RFID tags that can be embedded in an extensive range of products that RR Donnelley produces, which includes retail displays, product packaging, shipping labels, direct mail pieces, catalogs, magazines and more.

Nine different pieces—including catalogs, magazines, retail inserts and direct mailings—that drew on R. R. Donnelley’s premedia and production platform have been recognized with 2012 Golden Cylinder Awards by the Gravure Assn. of America. “At RR Donnelley, we have brought technology and craftsmanship together across multiple facilities to deliver consistent high quality,” said John Paloian, RR Donnelley’s chief operating officer.
