FTA Announces Theme for its 2009 Annual Forum

ORLANDO, Fla.—The Foundation of Flexographic Technical Association’s 2009 Annual Forum & INFO*FLEX Exhibition is set to take place May 3-6, 2009 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, where the central theme will be “Navigating the Future of Flexo: Innovate. FFTA Adds New Workshops to its 2008 Tour

The workshops “FIRST 4.0 on the Go!” have been designed to educate attendees on the fundamentals and best practices of flexography and how they align with the specifications identified in FIRST 4.0 (Flexographic Image Reproduction Specifications & Tolerances). FTA Inducts Vreeland into Hall of Fame

RONKONKOMA, N.Y.—The Flexographic Technical Association has named Howard B. Vreeland Jr., chief operating officer of Anderson & Vreeland Inc., the 46th inductee to its Hall of Fame. The announcement was made Sunday, April 27, at Foundation of FTA’s Annual Forum in Dallas, Texas. Vreeland knew from a very early age that printing plants and pressrooms would become focal points in his life’s work, as well as the center of his uncompromising efforts to identify, develop, and introduce new products that contribute to the advancement of flexographic print quality and consistency. Clemson to Offer Digital Proofing for Flexo Seminar

CLEMSON, S.C.—Last year the Clemson Department of Graphic Communications formed a committee of industry leaders to produce a new event in its Seminar Series, “Digital Proofing for Flexography.” The program was so popular that the program is scheduled to return this May 13-16 in twin sessions. The two sessions ensure that the numbers stay small, below 30, to ensure hands-on experience.
