Formal unveiling of Flexographic Technical Association's 2012 award winners came at a gala banquet held in conjunction with the organization’s 54th Annual Forum and 30th Edition of its INFO*FLEX Exhibition in San Antonio.

Lon Robinson III, Tension Envelope Corp. and Sean Teufler, Harper Graphic Solutions, were presented with FTA President’s Awards at the FTA gala awards banquet held in San Antonio last week. 

Promoflex International of St. Leonard, QC, and The Label Printers of Aurora, IL, were recognized in the 12th Annual FTA Environmental Excellence Award program. The awards were presented on March 18 at the FTA Annual Forum in San Antonio.

FTA today announced the release of its “FTA Events” app, a cross-platform, native application for web-enabled smartphones and tablets including the iPhone, iPad and Android. Designed for those who are attending the 54th Annual Forum and 30th Anniversary INFO*FLEX Exhibition, this free app is sponsored by Color Resolutions International and is available for the iPhone, the iTouch, the iPad, and Android devices.

Harper Corporation has donated a Phantom Proofer from its HarperScientific division to support the Foundation of Flexographic Technical Association (FFTA). The proofer will be auctioned off in an effort to raise money for the FIRST Operator Certification Scholarship Fund, sponsored by the FFTA.

The official kickoff session of FTA’s 2012 Annual Forum “Flexo: Brand of Choice” will set the overall tone of the conference as presenters and audience members alike scrutinize real-world print samples to determine if flexo truly is the “brand of choice”.

Mark Andy is the first in-line flexo press manufacturer to receive full HD Flexo certification from EskoArtwork. The announcement was made at Labelexpo Europe. To achieve certification, presses are print tested and qualified to ensure that the HD Flexo process is adhered to with a high level of repeatability.

OEC Graphics, a flexographic prepress supplier to converters, is diverting business from gravure and offset following the January 2010 installation of its EskoArtwork CDI Advance 1750 with EskoArtwork HD Flexo version 2.0 and inline UV capability.
