Phenix Label, a provider prime labels and flexible packaging, announced the company has achieved a Bronze Medal from EcoVadis, a provider of business sustainability assessments. Phenix Label’s score placed the company in the top 35 percent among sustainable businesses worldwide.
At the forefront of sustainability in the printing industry, Phenix Label partners with EcoVadis-rated brands to develop lower-impact labels and smart packaging that measurably supports supplier scorecards. Phenix Label’s sustainability program includes 99 percent landfill-free operations at the company’s production facility in Olathe. Each week, more than 18 tons of production waste is converted to alternative solid fuel for a nearby cement kiln — eliminating over 1,000 truckloads of coal annually.
Landfill-Free Labels
To streamline supplier assessments, Phenix Label has launched its Landfill-Free Labels partnership program to help EcoVadis-certified brands reduce waste and document improvements. This program aligns with EcoVadis environment and sustainable procurement metrics, enabling clients to standardize material selection, diversion pathways and supporting documentation to reduce supply chain risk and drive impact.
“Many of our customers run EcoVadis programs. They rely on Phenix Label as a trusted supplier with documented landfill-free practices, offering smart-label innovation that can improve packaging sustainability without compromising line speed,” said Hans Peter, CEO of Phenix Label. “Sustainability is woven into every part of our process at Phenix Label. The Bronze rating from EcoVadis validates our commitment to make a lasting impact on the planet by reducing carbon footprint.”
Phenix Label also offers a patent-pending, tear-away RFID-enabled label that can be easily removed for recycling, further increasing sustainability. This design enables reliable scanning on difficult-to-track, liquid-filled packaging by positioning the tag above the fill level, aligning traceability and environmental commitments in one supplier engagement.
