Nipson VaryPRESS Surpasses Customers Speed, Volume Expectations
CHICAGO—Nipson, a supplier of versatile digital printing solutions for specialty and high-volume applications, reports that its VaryPRESS models have exceeded customers’ speed and volume expectations during the last ten years. Customers are reporting that individual models are producing well over half a billion feet of printing since purchased, with no signs of slowing.
“Our customers really give our machines a beating; but the printers keep on going,” said Bryan Palphreyman, CEO of Nipson U.S. and UK. “We are pleased with the news that our models are exceeding expectations and plan to continue to improve our products and technology to meet future demands.”
The latest VaryPRESS model achieves a production speed of up to 492 fpm, producing more than 1,000 A4 pages per minute, two-up simplex and over 2,000 A4 pages per minute, two-up in duplex mode. All VaryPRESS models also have Nipson’s variable speed feature that automatically or manually adjusts the printing speed to synchronize with the data flow rate and the finishing equipment. This eliminates unnecessary starts and stops and reduces associated waste. The result is a cost-effective continuous production.
“The variable speed feature coupled with it being a tight-web system, enables customers to seamlessly integrate their VaryPRESS with high-speed flexo and offset printing presses, as well as with a wide range of pre- and post-processing and finishing equipment,” says Palphreyman.
Featuring Nipson’s proprietary magnetography, cool xenon flash fusing, the VaryPRESS can print a wide range of applications—from transaction and direct mail to security and labels. In addition, the VaryPRESS can be used to print with a wide range of substrates from very lightweight paper (30 gsm) to heavy card stocks (300 gsm), as well as labels, foils, carbonless stocks, coated materials, and plastic affixed cards. All VaryPRESS models have a maximum web width of 20.5 inches and a maximum printable width of 18.45 inches.
