CINCINNATI, Ohio--In an exclusive Labelexpo Americas preview, Nilpeter USA has showcased its FB3300A press at an open house in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company introduced its new FB3300A inline flexo press to the Americas with a demonstration that used 200 line screen photopolymer plates.
Nilpeter partnered with Enovation Graphic Systems and MacDermid Printing Solutions, who demonstrated Digital MLT: a digital plate which was processed on the MacDermid LAVA thermal plate processing system. The resulting 200 line screen photopolymer plates were then used to print labels on the FB3300A. This is the highest line screen plate that MacDermid has ever developed.
Nilpeter engineers demonstrated the versatility of the FB3300A by printing high quality cosmetic, food, water and spirit labels on the 8-color, 13” press. First introduced at Labelexpo Europe last September, the FB3300A has already proved a resounding success, resulting in over 30 orders worldwide. Available in 10”, 13” and 16” web widths, the FB-Line of presses can reach speeds of up to 750 ft/min due to helical gearing. Engineered to increase efficiency and optimize productivity, the line is based on modular flexo technology for easy configuration.
“This is the highest line screen flexo plate that I have seen produced in the narrow web market with a thermal plate processor,” says Ted Schaffer of Enovation Graphics. “As far as I know, no one is printing at that level. Our LAVA customers have proved that the thermally processed plate has excellent resolution and durability; two key characteristics to digital photopolymer plates. The LAVA 2530 format size is well-suited for the narrow web market, and we feel that MacDermid has hit the nail on the head with the processing”. Digital MLT is a medium durometer uncapped plate that can be processed either in conventional solvent processing systems or the LAVA thermal plate processing system.
“We’re running this 200 line screen job to show how easy it is to achieve the highest quality on the FB3300A,” says Nilpeter USA president Andy Colletta. “Nilpeter is ‘your printing partner’ and we believe that means we should provide more than just the best press. We bring vendors together to assist our customers reach their goals, whether that means a move into flexible packaging or high-end multi-process work - we’re your partner. Vendor partners such as MacDermid truly contribute to the success of our customers.”
A number of other industry partners also demonstrated the latest end-to-end industry developments to help streamline processes, increase productivity and optimize quality.
