Data Set for G7 Printing Standards
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—FineEye Color Solutions has announced the release of a G7 Extreme data set that addresses the proofing challenges faced when preparing wider gamut color jobs in offset printing. The G7 Extreme dataset is available for download at http://www.fineeyecolor.com/downloads/tools-utilities, and is designed to assist print shops in calibrating their existing sheet fed (and web) offset lithographic presses and to improve the quality of proofing the larger gamut files, earlier in the production workflow thus reducing costly turn-around time.
The FineEye ICE G7 Extreme data set was developed based on achievable gamut of a typical sheet fed offset lithographic press calibrated using the G7 process, using ISO inks and a GRACoL Grade 1 Coated paper stock. The ability to practically reproduce this dataset in production is dependent on using separations that are created for this condition through the use of FineEye ICEserver.
G7 Extreme is one of four levels of G7 Compliance as detailed in the G7 Specification 2008, published by IDEAlliance.
