All Printing Resources (APR), a provider of technical expertise and solutions for the flexographic and packaging industry, recently partnered with NextGen Label Group to streamline their inspection and quality control workflows through automation. By integrating AVT AutoSet with Esko Automation Engine, APR helped NextGen eliminate redundant data entry, reduce operator error, and enhance productivity across its operations.
NextGen Label Group, an employee-owned converter with facilities in Syracuse and Albany, New York, had been running AVT inspection systems for years, but saw an opportunity to automate data flow between prepress and press. APR’s team worked closely with AVT, Esko, and NextGen’s internal staff to design, coordinate, and execute a connected solution from prepress to pressroom.
“When we started exploring automation opportunities, APR was the first call we made,” said Nick Noyes, Chief Operating Officer at NextGen Label Group. “They brought everyone to the table, AVT, Esko, and our internal teams, to make sure everything was compatible and coordinated from start to finish.”
Through APR’s guidance, NextGen implemented AVT’s AutoSet automation feature, allowing inspection data to be transferred directly from prepress workflows into the AVT system on press. This eliminated manual setup steps, reduced opportunities for human error, and allowed operators to focus more on production quality and efficiency.
The results have been immediate. NextGen reports a smoother workflow, higher operator engagement with the AVT systems, and reduced setup time. The success of the integration has also prompted the company to expand its use of AVT systems, now totaling six across its facilities.
“APR has been an exceptional partner,” Noyes said. “As a mid-market company like us, they understand what it takes to succeed. From routine orders to complex automation initiatives, APR delivers the same level of care and expertise every time.”
As NextGen continues investing in automation and RFID technology, APR remains a key strategic partner, helping the company evaluate and implement new solutions that advance its mission of operational excellence and quality assurance.
