BOISE, Idaho—Boise Cascade’s International Falls, Minnesota, and Jackson, Alabama mills have earned Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-of-Custody Certification from the Rainforest Alliance’s SmartWood program.“Adding FSC certification further demonstrates our commitment to sustainable business practices,” said Alexander Toeldte, executive vice president, Boise Paper, packaging and newsprint. Boise’s Alabama and Minnesota paper mills went through a rigorous audit process this summer to add the FSC certification to the mills which have long been Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certified. Certification allows Boise to use the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal and FSC labels and trademarks on products manufactured at these mills that meet FSC requirements.
