CREVE COEUR, Mo. and CHICAGO—Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation announced plans to permanently close its Ontonagon, Mich., and Missoula, Mont., mills, effective December 31.
Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation announced that the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Delaware, has granted final approval of its $750 million debtor-in-possession (DIP) credit facility, which provides the company with access to the full amount of the facility.
The Company plans to use this process to restructure its debt, resulting in a capital structure more suited to support its long-term growth and profitability.
