Charlotte, NC – Nearly a dozen team members at global anilox supplier Harper Corporation soon will begin an intensive half-year program of instruction leading to their certification as Implementation Specialists. That designation, along with Press and Pre-Press certifications, make up the Flexographic Image Reproduction Specifications & Tolerances or FIRST Program. This year's courses are the fourth edition to be offered by the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) to production workers, supervisory personnel and supplier staff. Charlotte, NC – A planned FFTA online auction to fund operator certification scholarships got a major boost recently -- a new Phantom Proofer System donated by HarperScientific, the printing and coating supplies division of global anilox supplier Harper Corporation of America. The spring 2011 auction will generate scholarships for those individuals interested in pursuing a FIRST 'Press' or 'Prepress' Operator Certification. CHARLOTTE, NC | An audience of 65 assembled for a day of presentations on flexographic printing-related methods and trends at the Harper Flexographic Solutions seminar July 29 near Chicago. Harper GraphicSolutions, the technical service division of global anilox supplier Harper Corp., organized the event. Attendees listened as Harper experts and presenters from other leading industry suppliers provided overviews on key flexographic techniques and shared solutions of interest to printing managers, supervisors and pressroom staffers. Topics covered during the free seminar included pressroom standardization, ink adhesion, effective anilox cleaning, methods for enhanced proofing and color management and digital plate technology.
