Cytec Increases Price of Amino Resins

WEST PATERSON, N.J.—Cytec Industries Inc. is increasing prices in North and South America on its CYMEL, MELMAC, BECKAMINE, and UFORMITE amino resins. The increases will take effect on all shipments on or after Nov. 1, 2007, or as contracts allow. These increases will apply as follows: $0.06/lb for conventional melamines and conventional ureas $0.012/lb for conventional benzoguanamines and high-solids HMMM $0.15/lb for high-solids glycolurils $0.16/lb for high-solids melamines $0.30/lb for high-solids benzoguanamines Cytec reports that all of the increases are necessary to offset the continued escalation in the costs of raw materials, labor, energy, and transportation.

Cytec Announces Price Increases for Specialty UV/EB Monomers, Oligomers and Photoinitiators

WEST PATERSON, N.J.—Cytec Industries Inc. is increasing the prices of selected UV/EB curable specialty monomers, specialty oligomers, and photoinitiators in the Americas for orders shipped on or after Oct. 15, 2007. Prices will advance between 5 to 7 percent depending on the product family, and as contracts allow. The increase is necessitated by the continued escalation in the cost of raw materials, especially acrylic acid, acrylic esters and polyols, and related energy, packaging and transportation costs.
