Digital Printing-Inkjet Sheetfed

With a desire to increase its capacity for digital packaging production, Sussex, Wis.-based Color Ink has purchased a new Komori digital press. The Komori Impremia IS29, a 29˝ inkjet, sheetfed UV printing system will provide high-quality output for short-run and personalized applications.

Bennett Packaging, a corrugated printer located near Kansas City, has installed a second Barberán Jetmaster digital press. Two years ago, Bennett's first Barberán press became the first large-format, single-pass, direct-to-corrugate digital printer in North America.

The Heidelberg Primefire 106 has made its North American debut at Warneke Paper Box in Denver. At an event held at Warneke Paper Box on Oct. 1 and 2, Warneke and Heidelberg executives demonstrated the press's capabilities and discussed plans for its future.

Epson has launched the new SurePress L-6534VW digital label press, designed for label converters investing in a digital label press for the first time or looking to expand production facilities. Epson will showcase the new press, as well as the SurePress L-6034VW and L-4533AW and workflow automation solutions with Wasatch RIP, at Labelexpo Americas.

Mouvent announced it will highlight its Mouvent Cluster Technology for digital label printing at this year’s Labelexpo Americas exhibition. The Mouvent Cluster uses compact and lightweight clusters instead of fixed size print bars by color, arranging them in a modular, scalable matrix.

Digital printing for corrugated packaging has proven to be a versatile and beneficial technology. But converters face important decisions when adding the technology to their businesses.

Komori announced it will begin field testing the 40˝ Impremia NS4 sheetfed nanographic printing system. The technology is equipped with Landa Nanography technology and has been in development at Komori in Japan for more than two years.

Abbott-Action, a corrugated packaging and display printer based in Attleboro, Mass., has received G7 Master Qualification, awarded by Idealliance. Abbott-Action is among the early adopters of single-pass, direct-to-board digital corrugated printing, having installed the Barberán Jetmaster 1890.

The fourth-annual Digital Packaging Summit will be held from November 5-7 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., building on its mission of connecting digital packaging equipment suppliers and package printers for three days of education and networking. Atlas Die, Barberán, MPS and Label Traxx are the latest suppliers to join the 2018 event as sponsors.
