Zip-Pak to Localize Production in China
Zip-Pak, a leader in resealable solutions, announced the opening of its first factory in China, located in Guangzhou. The new facility will localize production of the company’s resealable zipper closures.
“Until this point, we have been devoted to providing the China Market with high quality resealable solutions that enhance consumer brands from our worldwide production facilities,” said Tracy Wang, Business Development Manager, Zip-Pak China. “The purpose of this new factory in China is to better serve the needs of the Chinese market.”
As the only company of its kind with an in-house equipment division, Zip-Pak also recently introduced a new consulting group: the Package Realization Team™. The team will help brand owners transition from existing package styles to consumer-preferred resealable flexible formats. For each unique project, a unique team is assembled to consult with consumer product goods (CPG) companies and retailers on how to implement cost-effective and efficient resealable closure solutions. Team configurations may vary according to project needs, and may include representatives from sales, marketing, product development, operations, machinery and technical service.
Brand owners may also choose to install Zip-Pak’s retrofit solutions which require a lower capital investment than new machines.
In March 2008, Zip-Pak established a China office in Shanghai. Since then, Zip-Pak has been providing resealable solutions in China for brands like Dumex and Mars. The new Guangzhou factory is expected to further enhance the production capacity of Zip-Pak in Guangzhou to meet both local demand as well as the needs of the rest of Asia-Pacific.
Guangzhou is the capital of Guangdong Province, China, and it serves as one of the most important economic and transportation centers in Southern China. Guangzhou ranks third in terms of GDP among Mainland China cities, after Shanghai and Beijing.
Zip-Pak will showcase its innovative packaging solution, consulting capabilities and proven closure at ProPak China 2011 from July 13-15 at Booth 1C30.
