TrendWatch Changes Its Name
NEW YORK, N.Y.—TrendWatch Graphic Arts (TWGA), a source of market research for the graphic communications industry since 1995, has announced that it is changing its name to “The Industry Measure.”
While The Industry Measure will continue to conduct ongoing research into TWGA’s core graphic arts, creative, publishing, and Internet design and development markets, it will also be taking the proven methodology into new markets, as well as changing the focus of its ongoing research. The name change reflects The Industry Measure’s commitment to acquiring crucial market research data on companies providing new media services and technology platforms, especially those pursuing a multi-channel marketing strategy.
Although many companies in TWGA’s extensive survey base have been gradually developing and offering these new media services and have been pursuing a multi-channel approach to disseminating content, TWGA’s core focus has largely been on those who work in print media. Going forward, The Industry Measure’s surveys will be focused on tracking new and emerging marketing media like mobile communications, as well as different types of content dissemination, such as podcasting, blogs, and the integration of these media with more established media such as broadcast, the Internet, and print.
The Industry Measure’s market survey reports will include:
• New media: Graphic designers, ad agencies, interactive agencies, and other companies whose primary focus is new media and multi-channel marketing-centric, with a secondary focus on print.
• Creative: Design & Production markets, comprising graphic designers, advertising agencies, corporate designers, and commercial photographers, companies whose primary focus is print, with a secondary focus on Web design and other new media.
• Publishing: Magazine, book, and catalog publishers who are pursuing print and non-print media in varying proportions.
• Print and Prepress: The traditional TWGA Printing markets, comprising commercial printers, quick printers, book and magazine printers, and trade shops.
• Internet design and development: Graphic designers, ad agencies, interactive agencies, corporate Internet departments, Web designers and developers, and other companies whose primary focus is on Web site design, development, and production, with secondary focuses on newer media development and print.
