Dave Greiner of Precision Label accepts the Eugene Singer Award in the small company category.
The Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI) announced the winners of the Eugene Singer Awards for Management Excellence on Tuesday, March 8, during its Converter Meeting in Hawaii. One of the industry’s most prestigious and highest honors, the Eugene Singer Award recognizes excellence in business management measured and defined by an established set of growth and profitability ratios through participation in the TLMI Management Ratio Study.
More than 90 narrow web converters throughout the United States and Canada participate in the TLMI Ratio Study, however just four converting companies are awarded the honor each year. The 2015 TLMI Eugene Singer Awards were given to the following companies:
- Grandville, Mich.-based Precision Label won in the small company category for the first time. Dave Greiner, president, commented, “Our company roots go back to my father being a broker of industrial packaging out of his spare bedroom in 1975. I would like to thank and give credit to our employees that took a chance on my vision 21 years ago to start manufacturing tags and labels. This award validates their professionalism, commitment to high quality, and can-do attitude. It is an honor to accept this award on their behalf as well as our long-term customers and suppliers that made this possible.”
- Yorba Linda, Calif.-based Digital Label Solutions won for the mid-range company category. This is the company’s third time winning the Eugene Singer Award and company co-owner, Sandy Petersen, commented, “Wow! Three years in a row. We couldn’t be more proud or more pleased. A big thanks to our fabulous customers, vendors and of course, employees — we wouldn’t be here without them; and to TLMI for facilitating this valuable management tool year after year.”
- Aurora, Ill.-based The Label Printers won for the medium company category. This is the Label Printers’ seventh Eugene Singer Award. The company’s COO, Lori Campbell, commented, “While our customers and vendors are always indispensable partners in achieving the Eugene Singer Award, this year more than most, the lion’s share of the credit goes firmly to the entire Label Printers team. Early on we worried that the implementation challenges of a new ERP system could result in a temporary setback, but I’m so proud of our resolve in making sure that we didn’t miss a beat in serving our customers or sacrificing our overall performance.”
- Sanford, Fla.-based Consolidated Label won for the large company category. This is Consolidated Label’s 14th Eugene Singer Award. Company President, Joel Carmany, commented, “Consolidated Label is thrilled to win the Singer Award. This is a goal we focus on all year and to win is a culmination of a great year. I thank the employees and management team for their dedicated efforts year after year.”
