Call for Entries: The 29th Annual packagePRINTING Excellence Awards
Excellence is an elusive quarry, but it is at the core of the work done by every label and package printer and converter. This marks the 29th year of the packagePRINTING Excellence Awards, in which a panel of judges, all industry experts in packaging, will examine a host of entries from around the world to determine the best of the best.
It’s not a trivial task! Every year the entries raise the bar on every aspect of quality in labels, folding cartons, flexible packaging and corrugated containers. Product decoration ranges from the deceptively simple—but subtly complex—to finely crafted works of packaging art.
“The work we see at this competition exemplifies the dedication and craftsmanship of package printers and converters,” said Brian Ludwick, executive vice president and publisher of packagePRINTING magazine. “Every year we think it can’t possibly get any better, and yet the following year we are always surprised at what is being done.”
The competition includes labels, wine and beer labels, flexible packaging, folding cartons, and corrugated, with specialty categories for technical achievement and sustainability. Each of these is divided into sub-categories for different types of printing, including flexography, offset, screen, gravure, digital, and combinations of technologies.
“Package printers and converters are pushing the envelope of every printing technology at their disposal,” said Noel Ward, editor-in-chief of packagePRINTING. “It’s exciting to see not only what they submit, but to hear how they worked their magic to produce some spectacular packaging.”
Entries for the competition must be submitted by June 5. Click here for more information and to start preparing your entry.
