SPGPrints announced that it will be expanding its range of RotaPlate reusable nickel rotary screens. The company will be adding two new screens for creating varnish effects on self-adhesive labels. The RotaPlate 75Q applies deposits of approximately 100µm thickness, while the RotaPlate 125V deposits a more subtle 26µm thickness. The 75Q is ideal for solids and fine details that need to be reproduced consistently, and the 125V is designed for fine linework and text.
The screens will make their global debut at Labelexpo Europe 2015 (Brussels, September 29 – October 2, 2015), where they will be on display at the SPGPrints stand, 8A10.
Available on rolls up to 565mm (22.2in.) wide, RotaPlate comes as a pre-coated, non-woven mesh that is assembled into a cylinder. It features a welded nickel hexagonal hole-formation that is standard in all SPG screen technology. The high strength of this construction enables screen reuse and print speeds of up to 50 m/min (164 ft./min.). RotaPlate is an economical solution for achieving high-quality results and stability at relatively fast print speeds. It offers excellent performance on all leading rotary screen presses and modules.
The Rotaplate range comprises six screens, which collectively provide a solution for printing tactile effects from fine lines to Braille, in thicknesses from 26µm to 250µm.
