Industry Leadership Panel to Discuss Key Issues at SuperCorrExpo
ATLANTA—August 8, 2012—Six leading voices in the worldwide corrugated industry will engage in a wide-ranging panel discussion about the state of the industry and take questions from attendees at the TAPPI/AICC SuperCorrExpo in Atlanta this October. This rare gathering of worldwide corrugated leadership will present an opportunity for SuperCorrExpo attendees and exhibitors to hear news and perspectives that they would never hear in their own facility. Michael Harwood, president and CEO of the World Containerboard Organisation, will moderate the discussion immediately after his keynote address, which will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3. The Industry Executive Panel will include:
- David Andrews, Executive Director, Paper Packaging Canada
- Carl Bohm, President, International Corrugated Case Association
- Dennis Colley, President, Fibre Box Association
- Larry Montague, President and CEO, TAPPI (Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry)
- Steve Young, President, AICC (Association of Independent Corrugated Converters)
"We could not have found a better panel than this anywhere in the world,” Harwood said. “It is the first time leaders of all of these associations have come together on one panel speaking together. The discussion will be a unique learning opportunity for engineers, managers, sales people and executives. Anyone who attends will learn more about the corrugated container and containerboard business than they’ve ever had the opportunity to do before.”
This distinguished group of industry leaders and executives will address key issues facing the business both nationally and worldwide, the important drivers of growth, generating a universal message of sustainability for corrugated packaging, and relating a plan to provide unprecedented service and security of supply to customers.
“If you want to know where the containerboard and corrugated packaging businesses are going now and in the next five years, come to SuperCorrExpo in Atlanta in October,” Harwood said. “You will see and hear the direction and future outlook from those who are responsible for guiding the actions of our associations in North America.”
“I look forward to representing TAPPI in this discussion,” Montague said. “The insights that our Industry Executive Panel will share are going to bring more unique value that professionals in our industry will find only at SuperCorrExpo, and no place else.”
“Since this is such a worldwide industry, the changes we see in international corrugated business trends affect all of us, from independent and integrated producers, to all of our suppliers,” said AICC’s Young. “That’s why I’m looking forward to such a high-level discussion with Mike Harwood and the rest of the diverse panel, because we will be hearing expert opinions on what the future may bring.”
