Nilpeter revealed the details of its latest entry into the flexible packaging segment in a recent post highlighting the new FA-26, the widest flexo press in the company's portfolio. The press, which features a width of 670 mm, is a result of the increased demand Nilpeter has seen for in-line printing of a variety of flexible packaging products, the company stated in its post.
The company states that the FA-26 is based upon many of the same features that are prevalent in Nilpeter's presses targeted toward the label segment. This includes high levels of automation, efficiency in changeovers, and sustainability features. According to the post, the automation system found in Nilpeter's label presses has been carried over to the FA-26, allowing for UV, solvent, and water-based printing, as well as in-line converting attributes. Additionally, Nilpeter states the FA-26 can print on an increased number of substrates, including recyclable and biodegradable plastic.
The post explains that the FA-26 was developed with sustainability in mind, as the in-line printing and converting attributes reduce waste and allow for short-run printing capabilities. Through the use of solvent dry lamination, or e-beam, the FA-26 is able to provide PET/PET instant cured lamination, the post states, which provides for increased recyclability.
The post states that Nilpeter "soft launched" the FA-26 at Labelexpo Europe 2019, and initial orders are set for delivery in 2020. Click here to read the full post.
