Monroe Rubber & Plastic to Exhibit New Products
ATLANTA, Ga.—Monroe Rubber & Plastic Inc., a leading nationwide manufacturer of die ejection products will exhibit its cutting-edge technologies for the die-cutting industry at The Odyssey Show, June 15 - 16, in Atlanta, GA. Attendees will have one of the first the opportunities to see the new Pro-Pel die ejection product, MRP's next generation of value-added die-ejection materials designed to increase the productivity and speed of die-cutting operations.
MRP's new Pro-Pel die ejection material is a Microcell elastomer material designed to meet and hold to today's close dimensional and performance tolerances - even under the harsh conditions that today's press speeds, heat, and pressure can create. Pro-Pel provides the unique ability to lower the product and scrap ejection heights for increased productivity and performance. Pro-Pel can be used on either rotary or flat dies. Pro-Pel is available in: pads, strips, kiss cut, loose pieces, E-Z Set Strips, Sidewave Strips, Ejectoflex Strips, and Strips
According to Dan Valmassei, President, MRP, Pro-Pel die ejection material is MRP's answer to effortless, high-speed die cutting. "When the product and ejection material height is lowered, the substrate is released from the die at the time the knife would normally withdraw not before. This eliminates any premature product ejection that might compete with scrap ejection," said Valmassei.
"Pro-Pel is highly resilient. You can flex it a million times and it will still come back. Pro-Pel never builds up on the high end of compression. It builds force quickly and doesn't top out. Since Pro-Pel doesn't accelerate at upper end of compression, it takes stress of while cutting," said Valmassei.
On rotary dies, this means reduced set-up time and truer through-the-press dimensions. By using Pro-Pel, product and scrap ejection rubber heights can be lowered to provide for cleaner cutting without product crush due to less penetration and lower pressure. As a result, the press operates closer to design pitch diameter. "Cutting is cleaner, scrap ejection is improved, and presses can run faster. There is also less wear on cutting blankets," said Valmassei. Pro-Pel works equally as well on flat dies for cutting thicker substrates without product crush.
Pro-Pel is easier to glue in place on both rotary and flat dies. Unlike older die materials and other EPDM compounds, Pro-Pel can be securely held in place with regular glue or MRP's sticky back pressure sensitive adhesive.
