SGK Merger Positions Matthews to Add Brand Development and Expand Deployment Offerings
PITTSBURGH—July 30, 2014—Matthews Brand Solutions announced that the completion of the definitive merger agreement to acquire SGK positions it to expand its offerings to include brand development services and to strengthen its brand deployment offering in the Americas and Asia Pacific.
Currently, Matthews Brand Solutions offers packaging solutions and merchandising services to marketers worldwide. The merchandising services are offered under the IDL Worldwide nameplate. Comprehensive packaging solutions, such as artwork production, prepress and printing tools, are offered through a suite of brands that include Saueressig, Scholler Packaging, Repro Busek, Rudolf Reproflex, Repro Service, S+T Reprotechnik and 5Flow. The company has a significant presence and trusted reputation in Europe.
As a result of the acquisition, Matthews Brand Solutions gains access to the brand development services offered by SGK under the Brandimage and Anthem nameplates. Both brands create brand desirability; Brandimage by creating meaningful brands and Anthem by amplifying and selling brands. The acquisition also gives Matthews Brand Solutions deeper brand deployment capabilities in the Americas and Asia Pacific through Schawk’s legacy premedia operations.
