With several awards programs throughout the packaging industry, one of the ways the packagePRINTING Excellence Awards stands out is its wide array of categories, spanning all packaging formats and printing technologies. Because we receive such a diverse set of packages each year, it's always a surprise to see which ones rise to the top, and how different they can be from the previous year's winners. - In 2018, it was all about offset, with a Crown Royal folding carton from Hub Folding Box taking the top prize. Beyond the printing, what made this package stand out were the added embellishments and smoky scent, giving consumers a full sensory experience.
- 2017's Best of Show winner proved that flexographically printed flexible packaging can compete with the best when it comes to graphics. The judges in this competition were amazed by how ProAmpac was able to produce such stunning visuals on a pouch material known to be challenging to print on.
- It's no secret that the wine segment is home to some of the highest-quality label printing. And in our 2016 competition, the labels produced by ASL Print FX for Colio Estate Winery's Girls' Night Out brand were particularly impressive. Beyond the excellent flexo printing, what made this entry stand out was that three different images were produced in the same run.
- In 2015, Rohrer Corp. proved that great printing isn't just for food and beverage segments. Its offset printed carton for IcyHot Smart Relief TENS Therapy Back Refill Pads demonstrated that packaging for the healthcare segment can be equally as eye-catching as anything found in the supermarket.
