Digital Printing to Offset Quality
LYON, France—According to Alwan Color Expertise, digital printers can now produce standardized and stable prints to offset quality using the company's updated Print Standardizer. This software operates with X-Rite's press-side auto-scanning instruments, along with a number of X-Rite prepress instruments including I1, IO, iSis, and Spectroscan.
No matter how large or small the digital printing device, Print Standardizer is designed to ensure that color rendering complies with international standards, such as ISO 12647 and G7. Dave Hunter, Alwan's representative in the U.S. and an expert on G7, adds, "I'm asked to make the digital press match the offset press in an increasing number of G7 installations. Even though G7 and Curve software provide a solid foundation for achieving this, a complete match can't be achieved without dynamic color management on the file and dot gain tracking and stabilization on the press. Print Standardizer is the only solution that can do both."
